Just finished watching Chris Rock's latest HBO special, Never Scared.

Truest bit of wisdom I've ever heard...the main reason a woman is never happy is because the man she's with is not her first choice. Considering I've spent over half my life with Mel Gibson as my first choice, I'd have to agree!

No pain, no gain!
I tried out my lovely new elliptical for the first time this morning. I'm a wuss. Hopefully that changes in the next few months!

Then again, I'll probably always be a wuss. I definitely prefer gain without pain.

What an odd theatrical treatise on life.

I'll admit...I was not exactly sure what I was watching till I was finished watching. It was beautifully planned hijacking of my original preconceptions - a pretty boy who lost his looks in a tragic accident finds the love of his life. Of course, when I put the disk in the DVD player, I had no idea the pretty boy started the movie in jail for murder...or that he would end up diving off a skyscraper to end a bad dream. I should have guessed from the multiple mentions of the dog who was frozen and thawed out again, but silly me...I didn't start watching the movie expecting to think.

I suppose I was lulled into a false sense of security by the previews I vaguely remember seeing a couple of years ago. And to think, I put off watching this movie for so long because I thought it would be a boring, sappy romance.

The obligatory profound quote: "Every second that passes is another chance to turn it all around." Hopefully I actually quoted that correctly. If not...I'll tell you in another life, when we are both cats.
