opinions wanted
Here's a situation for you to consider.
Three adults, living in a 3 BR apartment, splitting everything 3 ways. A fourth moves in. Obviously utilities should now be split 4 ways, but what about rent? Do you split rent 4 ways, considering that the 2 people who are sharing a room have the master bedroom, coming out to approximately $900 a month for 1 BR, 1 BA, and a walk-in closet, while the living room/dining area/kitchen are constantly shared by everyone? Or do you split rent based on space, so that whoever is in the master bedroom collectively pays more than the other 2 bedrooms, but not half the monthly rent for less than half the total space in the apartment?
Do you point out the obvious, that it's going to cost a lot more if the couple gets irritated and moves out in the next month or two, leaving the almost $1800 rent and $350 utilities to be split 2 ways? Or that it no longer matters that the other 2 are sharing a bathroom, because now the 2 in the master bedroom are sharing a bathroom too? Or that the 4th person doesn't even leave the bedroom except to go to the kitchen or do laundry and only brought 2 bags worth of possessions so there's not even a remote possibility of any apartment space outside the bedroom being consumed? Should the fact that the 4th person was invited without 2 people approving factor into discussions about rent? What about the fact that the 2 people who are protesting never considered how much of a hassle it is being the one whose name is on all the utilities, who gets to organize splitting bills and making sure rent is on time, who usually ends up having to call in service requests when things are broken, and who has to go so far as to organize cleaning schedules for other adults who shouldn't need to be told to clean on a schedule in a shared living environment?

On a happy note...Chris got a job at Best Buy! Three cheers for the dwarf! Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!
That's all for now.

home again home again jiggity jog
Yep, I'm back home again. Except it won't really feel like home till tomorrow, when my dwarf gets here. You read that right...Chris will be here tomorrow! *beams happily* I'll do my best to get pictures and a brief update about the weekend this week. Of course, some of you have been listening to me say that for over a month about Vegas....

this week's random thoughts
Back to listen to more random babbling from me, are ya? Well, do I have random babbles for you!
Last week, I left my sunglasses at Pizzaria Uno's when we went there for our usual Thursday lunch. Today, I decided to take a chance and see if they had a lost & found...and sure enough they did. I got my sunglasses back. I thought I wouldn't be upset about losing a cheap pair of sunglasses, but after half an hour of trying on a lot of them last weekend and not finding anything...I'm rather happy I decided to ask! Who knows how long I'll be looking for a good pair of cheap sunglasses when this pair finally does get lost or broken. That could be a while though...I've had them for 3 years now, and even after sitting on them many times, they're still in one piece. Best pair of cheap sunglasses ever.
This week was incredibly slow. It's not that I had nothing to do...I have plenty, when I can convince my procrastinating self to buckle down and do stuff. No amount of busy-ness would have made this week go by any faster though. You know why, don't you? Of course you do! That's what the countdown timer is at the top of the page for. And while I normally cringe at leaving prepositions dangling at the end of a sentence, I'm leaving that "for" right where it is.
Tonight was a lot of packing. And laundry. And the ritualistic shaving. You know what I mean. It's ritualistic because every woman does it before important events with her man. Hopefully that doesn't make anyone uncomfortable. You never know what's going to offend someone.
I guess I'm about done babbling for the time being. I'm all excited, and I can tell I'll have trouble sleeping tonight. Oh well. I'll be with my guy all weekend! A little lost sleep is nothing compared to the happiness of being with the one you love.
Have a good weekend, Gentle Readers! I know I will. I'll have pictures and stories when I get back. And to those who might be in Florida (I don't actually know anyone from Florida is reading, but who knows!), be careful.
